Stick to Medicine

At the Hospital: Each morning the doctors and residents come in during morning rounds. There is usually one doctor and 4-6 residents. It's intimidating and ackward to listen to people stand there and talk about my baby like I am not in the room. The other day the doctor pointed out that the baby shouldn't be laying on a bed with all those pillows on it. He added, "Hopefully the parents don't do that at home." Yeah, I am sitting right there so I had to chime in, "At home she sleeps face down on a big pile of pillows."* They all chuckled at my quip. But seriously, my baby is one week old. She's not rolling over and she can barely move at all with all they shit they have her hooked up to. Since she has been sleeping on me in the bed, the pillows (all 2 of them) are clearly mine.

*For any childless readers out there, it's a big ol' no-no to let your baby sleep face down, or to put any loose bedding or pillows in their crib for risk of SIDS.
