Sunday Best

24 Divisidero/ Coming home from church: Nothing to say, but I thought Leila looked extra cute on the bus in her Sunday "fancy dress".

Ice Cream Thursday

48 Quintara/ going for ice cream: After a bit a a fumble to get on the bus we joined a bunch of after school teens on their way through the Mission. We ended up at the hip little Humphry Sclocombe. We got lucky and each got a free scoop as part of a SF Parks promotion. For a second I thought I should skip the extra scoop since I am trying to shake off some weight. But hey, what the heck?
The flavors were so funky (in a good way) I had a hard time choosing. Leila chose chocolate again, but what she got was ancho chocolate. She gobbled it up. I had a scoop of kumquat-poppy seed and a scoop of Jesus Juice. "What's that?" you ask. It's red wine ice cream and cola. It was delish.
An added plus was the chance to enjoy sunny Mission weather.
We made it home easily, since Orin's dad met up with us and and added an extra set of hands. I'm already looking forward to next week.

New (AWESOME) Tradition

33 Stanyan/ going to ice cream: My good friend Tessa had a wonderful idea. She suggested we take our 2 toddlers and 2 babies on a weekly bus adventure to get ice cream. We plan to try out a different place each week. I think this might be the best idea ever.
Last week we kicked things off with a local favorite, Bi-Rite Creamery. This place makes very creamy, organic ice cream and almost always has a line. We went at 11:00 am (lunch spoiler!) and got in quickly.
After much deliberation, I had salted caramel and Leila picked chocolate. Orin, Tessa's kiddo, had honey lavender. Everyone seemed very pleased with their selection!
Our trail run of this new tradition went well, aside from a 17 minute wait for the return home bus which lead to some wrangling of toddlers on a sugar high at the bus stop.
